Indian Rupee opens higher at 53.78/dollar

The Indian rupee opened higher by 15 paise at 53.78 per dollar on Monday as against Friday's closing of 53.93.

RBI's indication of no further rate cut could weigh on the currency in the medium-term.
According to him, the range for the day is seen between 53.70-54/USD.
